Registration continues for children aged 2-10 years with Atopic Dermatitis (“skin asthma”) to participate in a new research study by the Dermatology Unit at Schneider Children’s. The research aims to investigate the effectiveness of a new cream for treatment.
Children suffering from Atopic Dermatitis, who register for the study, will be examined by a Dermatologist in order to ascertain their suitability to participate in the research study. Parents will also receive individual instruction regarding the treatment and their child’s skin problem.
The research study will be conducted over a period of three months during which the child will be examined once every two weeks. No blood tests or painful tests will be performed during the research, presenting no danger to children being treated. Daily use of the hydrating cream represents one of the fundamental methods of treating atopic dermatitis, and will be provided to children free of charge. The research has the blessing of the Ministry of Health. Follow up and observation will be conducted by specialists in the Dermatology Unit at Schneider Children’s.
