The Department of Pediatrics "C" at Schneider Children's Medical center of Israel comprises 30 hospitalization beds. The department treats children from all over the country presenting a wide range of medical problems. A section of the beds in the department are designated for children who have undergone a liver transplantation or who are candidates for transplant.

The department provides medical services for "Mother and Child" clinics in the area of Petach Tikvah and Ariel.

The department participates in the training of medical students from the Sackler Faculty of Medicine at Tel Aviv University.

Research Activities

1. New innoculations for infants, in cooperation with Ben Gurion University of the Negev in Beersheba, and "Mother and Child" clinics in the Petach Tikvah area
2. Rheumatic Fever - genetic signs and improvement of preventive care
3. Urinary Tract Infections - Causes of morbidity in infants, epidemiological surveys of pathogens and changes in treatment protocols in hospitalized children
4. LDH in the Cerebro-Spinal Fluid - characteristics, manifestations in various pathological conditions, application of research in various diagnoses
5. Suppression of inflammation mechanisms in infectious diseases - septic arthritis
6. Herpes Simplex - pathogenesis, complications and epidemiological aspects
